Perfect Tense
Present Perfect Tense
Present perfect tense is used for describing a past action effect on the present. Present perfect tense is formed by combaining have / has with the main verbs past participle.
The Pattern :
a. Verbal
(+) S + have/has + Verb3 + Complement
(-) S + have / has + not + Verb3 + Complement
(?) Have / has + S + Verb3 + Complement ?
Example :
(+) They have arrived.
(-) They have not arrived.
(-) They have not arrived.
(?) Have they arrived?
b. Nonverbal
(+) S + has / have + been + complement
(-) S + has / have + been + not + complement
(?) Has / have + subject + been + complement ?
Example :
(+) Ditha has been here.
(-) Ditha has been not here.
(?) Has ditha been here?
